Bolton Wanderers player ratings against Longridge Town: debutants impress and Afolayan great

First half team

Joel Dixon - 6

Former Barrow goalkeeper did not have the busiest first half of his Bolton career, apart from having to pick the ball out of the back of his net.

Gethin Jones - 6

Looked good going forwards but was muscled off the ball for Longridge's opening goal, which looked like a foul.

Will Aimson - 7

Former Plymouth Argyle defender could have two early goals with headers. Looked quick and solid in possession too.

George Johnston - 7

Former Wigan centre half showed quality on the ball when bringing it out of defence with some good passing to the final third.

Liam Gordon - 6

Started brightly going forward but then struggled to make an impact as the half wore on.

George Thomason - 7

Looked bright against his former side. Saw a low shot saved as half-time approached.

Josh Sheehan - 8

Central midfielder looked good on the ball in the centre of the park, effortlessly gliding past opponents. Looks a real talent in the middle of the park.

Lloyd Isgrove - 7

Sporting a new shorter haircut, the winger lined up on the right and put in several decent crosses. during his spell on the pitch

Antoni Sarcevic - 6

Saw a header cleared off the line but had to be substituted shortly afterwards. Linked up play well in the final third.

Nathan Delfouneso - 7

Started on the left flank and looked good, also drifted centrally at times to affect play.

Eoin Doyle - 6

Had an effort ruled out towards the end of the first half, and had a couple of other chances which were saved by Longridge stopper Lee Dovey.

Substitutes

Ronan Darcy - 7

Came on for Sarcevic midway through the first half. Was energetic and looked to make things happen and got reward at the end with goal.

Second half team

Matthew Alexander - 6

Had little to do but was solid enough when he was called into action.

Harry Brockbank - 8

Got forward well down the right flank and was rewarded for his efforts with the equalising goal.

Ricardo Almeida Santos - 7

Took the armband for the second half and nearly had his first goal in a Wanderers shirt with run into the box. Composed as ever at the back.

Adam Senior - 7

Solid on the ball and had a decent half of football at the back alongside the experienced Santos.

Declan John - 8

Some good crosses from the left flank when getting forward, none more so when putting in the ball for Bakayoko's strike.

MJ Williams - 7

Distributed the ball well from the centre of the park, just like he did in the second half of last season sitting in front of the back four.

Xavier Amaechi - 7

Went to the right wing after coming on and showed defensive doggedness and willingness to work hard on the flank. Impressed with his touches as well

Kieran Lee - 7

A solid performance from the former Sheffield Wednesday man and would have won a penalty late on by the referee played advantage so Darcy could score.

Oladapo Afolayan - 8

One of the standout performers after the break for Wanderers going forwards. Set up the eqaulising goal with a great piece of skill.

Amadou Bakayoko - 8

Debut for former Coventry forward and gave a hint of what to expect in a great debut. Got deserved goal and hit post too.
