Bolton Wanderers player features in League Two team of the week after Grimsby Town loss

Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Matt Gilks has been named in the League Two team of the week after his performance in the loss against Grimsby Town.

The veteran was Wanderers ' star performer in the 2-1 defeat at Blundell Park, making a string of saves to keep the Whites in with a chance of getting something out of the encounter.

After the weekend's action and using ratings from football statistics website WhoScored.com, Gilks is handed a place inbetween the sticks.

The back three in front of him lines up as Cambridge United's Declan Drysdale, Oldham Athletic's Kyle Jameson and Scunthorpe United's Harrison McGahey.

The wing backs are Morecambe's Carlos Mendes Gomes and George Thomson of Harrogate Town.

The midfield trio in the team are Grimsby's Jay Matete, who scored in the first minute of the game against Wanderers to give the hosts the advantage, Ebou Adams of Forest Green Rovers and Morecambe's Toumani Diagouraga.

Upfront in the divisional team of the weekend are Bradford City's Andy Cook and Tom Nichols of Crawley Town.

Wanderers are back in action tomorrow at the University of Bolton Stadium against Carlisle United, who are two points from the play-offs heading into tomorrow's encounter against Ian Evatt's side, which remain in the automatic promotion places despite the loss on the road on Saturday.
