Bolton Wanderers midfielder poised to seal loan transfer move to Scottish Premiership side

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Ali Crawford is reportedly poised to join Scottish side St Johnstone on loan until January.

The 30-year-old has fallen out of favour at the University of Bolton Stadium, having played 38 times and scored three goals for the club since joining in 2019.

He played 24 times for the Trotters in all competitions last season under Ian Evatt, but found the back of the net only once.

The Scot was shipped out on loan to League Two side Tranmere Rovers on transfer deadline day in January and played nine times for the Prenton Park side.

Crawford has a year to go on the two-year contract he signed last summer at the University of Bolton Stadium.

But he has fallen out of favour under Evatt and was used sparingly in the club's pre-season preparations, and has not yet made a matchday squad now that the League One campaign has begun.

Now, according to the Glasgow Evening Times, Crawford has penned a deal at St Johnstone until January 2022 and the agreement is poised to be announced.

Crawford last played for Wanderers in a competitive fixture against Tranmere at Prenton Park in January.
