Bolton Wanderers lineup vs Newcastle United under-21s confirmed: 11 changes made

Bolton boss Ian Evatt has made 11 changes from the last match to the Wanderers side which take on Newcastle United's under-21s this evening.

The two sides meet at the University of Bolton Stadium for the final game of their Northern Group C campaign of the Papa John's Trophy, the new name for the EFL Trophy.

The Trotters were last in action on Friday evening where they beat Salford City 2-0 in League Two in front of the Sky Sports cameras.

Ahead of this evening's clash, Evatt said that none of the players who started against the Ammies were due to be involved in the game against the Magpies' youngsters.

He had also confirmed that goalkeeper Billy Crellin would start this evening, with veteran Matt Gilks due to be involved in the league game on the road against Stevenage this weekend.

And Evatt has stayed true to his word, making 11 changes for this evening's clash.

As anticipated, Crellin starts in goal with a defence of Reiss Greenidge, George Taft and Jamie Mascoll in front of him.

Jak Hickman and Liam Gordon are poised to be the wing backs, with a midfield pair of Brandon Comley and Tom White.

Ronan Darcy also starts, as does Shaun Miller and Lloyd Isgrove in the forward positions.

George Thomason, who was recalled from his loan spell at Bamber Bridge today, has a place on the bench.

Also among the substitutes are Matt Alexander, Arthur Gnahoua, Adam Senior, Regan Riley, Markus Assarsson and Mitchell Henry.
