Bolton Wanderers defender Harry Brockbank could be out for up to a fortnight at most after picking up a groin injury in the draw against Morecambe.
The Trotters academy product came off after the hour in midweek against the Shrimps after he could no longer continue and was replaced by Gethin Jones.
Speaking ahead of this weekend's game against Stevenage at the University of Bolton Stadium, Ian Evatt said that the defender was initially 'very sore'.
But it appears to have improved of late and not been as bad as first feared, with Evatt hoping to be able to call upon Brockbank again within a fortnight at most.
Evatt confirmed that forward Arthur Gnahoua suffered a dislocated shoulder against Morecambe, in a repeat of the shoulder injury suffered against Walsall in December.
However, he was able to continue after it was put back into the socket and Gnahoua is poised to be available against the Boro.
Evatt said of Brockbank: "He’s got a slight groin issue. He was initially very sore, however, he’s presented a lot better today so we’re hopeful it’s not as bad as first feared and it’ll literally be a week or two.
“Everyone else is all good and all fine. The players have trained well again this morning. We’re hopeful with the Marcus (Maddison) situation that the appeal gets justified and his ban gets taken away.
"We’ll have to see how that develops but the positive for us now is that we’ve got some competition and strength in depth.
"Arthur dislocated his shoulder again during the first half from a set piece, the guy yanked it out of his socket, but it went straight back in and he continued so he’s okay now. Other than that, we’re all good."
Evatt added that Wanderers have come through with no positive cases in the latest round of coronavirus testing.
An unnamed player who previously had the illness is now all clear and available, as is midfielder Kieran Lee after completing his self-isolation period following being a close contact of someone with coronavirus.
