Bolton Wanderers injury update on Eoin Doyle, Gethin Jones and Antoni Sarcevic ahead of Salford City clash

Bolton Wanderers have been given a blow on the injury front as Ian Evatt confirmed skipper Antoni Sarcevic is 50/50 for the clash against Salford City and he does not think Eoin Doyle or Gethin Jones will be ready for the encounter.

The Trotters take on the Ammies tomorrow evening in League Two at the University of Bolton Stadium which will be shown live on Sky Sports.

Speaking following the defeat in the FA Cup to Crewe Alexandra last weekend, Evatt said that Doyle and Jones were due to be back in training following injury lay-offs for the pair.

Defender Jones has not played for Wanderers since being replaced the victory over Harrogate Town and suffering ankle ligament damage.

Striker Doyle last played in the draw against Cambridge United, where he was replaced not long after the second half got under way with a hamstring problem.

Evatt has now revealed that both players have suffered 'slight setbacks' and he does not think they'll be ready to play a part against Salford tomorrow evening.

Bolton captain Sarcevic has recently been playing on despite having a back complaint.

And Evatt believe his skipper will be '50/50' for the match against the Ammies.

He said: "We’ve had another difficult and challenging week. Antoni Sarcevic as I mentioned last week has been really struggling with a back injury.

"He isn’t great at the moment and is probably 50/50 for the game. Eoin Doyle and Gethin Jones have had slight setbacks so I don’t think they’ll be ready either but it is what it is.

"We have to get on with it, work hard and pick a team that we think is capable of going to beat Salford on Friday."
