Bolton Wanderers injury update ahead of Longridge Town as duo poised to miss friendly over coronavirus

Bolton Wanderers have no fresh injury concerns ahead of the pre-season friendly against Longridge Town, but Ian Evatt has confirmed the two of the club's players are poised to miss the match over coronavirus.

The Trotters have returned for pre-season training ahead of the League One campaign.

They have their first match of a busy pre-season schedule this Saturday when they head to Lancashire to take on Longridge Town.

Speaking ahead of the encounter, Wanderers manager Evatt said there are no fresh injury concerns and that nothing has emerged on that front among his squad.

But Evatt has revealed that a couple of Wanderers players have been affected by coronavirus, with one self isolating.

The Bolton boss did not reveal the identities of those players affected by Covid or any further details about their conditions.

He said: “Things are going really well. Touch wood at the moment, we’re avoiding injuries, which is good.

"We’ve got one or two Covid issues, but that’s just the nature of the beast at the moment. Other than that we’re okay.

“I’m not going to name names but we’ve got a player off and another one self isolating at the moment.

"I’m guessing you’ll figure that out on Saturday, but that’s just the way of the world at the moment so there’s nothing we can do about that."
