Bolton Wanderers injury latest on Eoin Toal, Josh Sheehan & Lloyd Isgrove ahead of Wycombe

Bolton Wanderers pair Josh Sheehan and Lloyd Isgrove a nearing a return to action but will play for the club's B team in the middle of this month to step up their returns to the first team.

Wanderers have their first home game of the season this weekend when they take on the Chairboys. It will follow up the point won away to Ipswich Town at Portman Road on the opening day of the campaign.

The Whites take on Gareth Ainsworth's side, after Wycombe missed out on promotion last season having finished in the play-offs. The Chairboys lost the play-off final at the hands of Sunderland.

Wanderers have no fresh injury concerns ahead of taking on the Chairboys. Sheehan is coming closer to a return from an ACL problem, while Isgrove is coming back from a hamstring injury.

But Evatt has revealed the duo are not quite ready for a first team return just yet. The pair are poised to play for Bolton's B team later this month ahead of returning for the first team.

Evatt said: "We're all good. Obviously, Josh and Lloyd are another week closer to playing.

"If there was a B Team fixture next week, they would have taken part in that. But there is a game the following week so that is probably where they will be blooded back into action."

Another player who will not be involved against Wycombe is Eoin Toal. The defender has been recovering from a slight ankle problem picked up for previous club Derry City.

But Evatt has confirmed Toal will not feature just yet. He is still in the process of getting used to how Wanderers train and play with the intensity which comes with that.

He said: "We need to be really cautious with Eoin. He’s obviously had this ankle issue, but also the way we train and how difficult and intense it is, you have to build the tolerance to that.

"He’s come from a place which does not train or play the way that we do and isn’t used to it and his body isn’t used to it so we have to almost build up that tolerance and robustness to be able to cope so we have to be a little bit patient with him and give him some time. He’s not ready to be involved yet.

“Not just the level but it’s the identity of the club you’re coming from and if you’re used to playing a certain way and then you get thrown into a team that is front foot, high press and really intense every minute of every day, it takes time to get used to so we’re going to give him that time.”
