Bolton Wanderers' hopes of Peter Kioso return suffer blow after Luton Town man joins League One club

Any hopes Bolton Wanderers had of potentially having Peter Kioso back on loan this season appear to have come to an end after the Luton Town defender joined Northampton Town.

The 21-year-old played 14 games for Wanderers this season and scored three goals, cementing himself as the club's first choice at right wing-back during the first half of the campaign.

Earlier this month, Kioso's parent club Luton recalled the defender from his loan spell at the University of Bolton Stadium owing to injury problems at Kenilworth Road.

Since returning to the Hatters, Kioso has not played for Nathan Jones' side.

Wanderers boss Ian Evatt had hoped that if Kioso was not being used by the Hatters, then the defender could return to the University of Bolton Stadium for the rest of the campiagn.

But those hopes have suffered a blow after it was confirmed the defender has now joined League One Northamption for the remainder of the campaign.

Cobblers manager Keith Curle said: "Peter is a player we have been tracking for some time and have been very impressed by.

"He was on our radar before he went out to Bolton, we monitored his performances there, he did very well for Bolton and has shown excellent progression in his career.

"He has both power and pace, he is a good athlete and he can play in any role down the right hand side as a wing back or a full back.

"He is a threat going forward, he has good defensive qualities too and he will add to our squad."
