Wanderers meanwhile have gone into the top half of the table after Tuesday evening's win over Cambridge United and can go as high as ninth should they pick up three points and results elsewhere on the day go their way.

Ahead of Saturday''s game, Wanderers reserves took on Burnley in the Central League Cup tie 4-1 loss.

Evatt believes Amaechi came through the clash unscathed as he continues his comeback from a hamstring strain, and the Bolton boss gave no fresh injury worries ahead of taking onm the Shrimps, with Kieran Lee back fit and available after being rested in the midweek win over Cambridge United.

Evatt said: "I haven’t seen him since but as he walked off, I had a quick chat with him and he seemed alright. He just needs some sharpness.

"The energy is good – it’s just football fitness more than anything.

"I think there’s one or two tired bodies but other than that, we’re okay.

“We’ve got a squad of players that are all chomping at the bit and ready to play and make an impression, especially the new ones, so we’ve got decisions to make and we’ll take each game as it comes really and see the opponents, see strengths and weaknesses, and pick a team accordingly.

"Obviously before we just didn’t have the options off the bench. Now if Plan A isn’t working, we’ve got Plan B, C, D sat on the bench really and we can affect games from there, but I’m pleased with where we’re at. We’ve got lots of hard work to go but the boys are really bouncing at the moment.”
