Bolton Wanderers fitness update on duo ahead of Wycombe and goalkeeper trial decision made

Bolton Wanderers have been boosted by the return to fitness of right-back Gethin Jones and midfielder Kieran Lee for tomorrow's clash against Wycombe Wanderers.

The Whites return to League One action tomorrow having had a free weekend owing to it being the third round of the FA Cup.

Wanderers were last in action in the Papa John's Trophy against Hartlepool United where they suffered a 1-0 loss on the road.

Tomorrow evening, Wanderers are back at the University of Bolton Stadium for the first time in 2022 and take on the Chairboys.

And they have been boosted by the return to fitness of defender Jones and midfielder Lee ahead of the visit of Gareth Ainsworth's side.

Ian Evatt said: “Thankfully they’re all good. Gethin’s been back training and has looked really good actually, it’s surprised me with how quickly he’s come back and how good he looks in training.

"Obviously we’ve signed Marlon (Fossey) as well so that area of the pitch looks extremely strong all of a sudden. Kieran’s back and Kieran’s huge for us.

"He’s a big part of everything we do and he’s come back thankfully all good to go, so he’ll be back involved tomorrow.”

Evatt also spoke on the trial handed to goalkeeper David Odumosu, who spent time at Wanderers last week.

The 20-year-old's contract at Drogheda United has expired and Wanderers took a look at the stopper, but Evatt has confirmed that it is not an option they will be taking up as Wanderers seek to strengthen that area of the pitch.

He said: “He’s been on trial, but it’s not something we’re going to take up.”
