Bolton Wanderers duo Ricardo Santos and Eoin Doyle named in PFA League Two team of the year

The Professional Footballers' Association (PFA) League Two team of the year has been announced and Bolton Wanderers have two representatives in the form of defender Ricardo Santos and striker Eoin Doyle.

Wanderers achieved automatic promotion out of the division following a remarkable surge up the table from the bottom half from the end of January up into the top three by the campaign's conclusion.

Ian Evatt's side will be a League One team once more and are joined in the third tier of English football next season by Cheltenham Town and Cambridge United, as well as Morecambe following the Shrimps' triumph over Newport County in the play-off final.

And Wanderers' exploits on the pitch have seen two big members of the squad being named in the division's team of the season, which is voted for by PFA members.

Central defender Santos played every single minute of Bolton's promotion winning campaign out of League and established himself as a rock at the back for Evatt's side.

He formed a formidable central defensive partnership with Alex Baptiste as Wanderers secured promotion back to the third tier of English football.

He is joined by Wanderers top scorer Doyle, who bagged 19 goals for the University of Stadium outfit throughout the campaign.

Salford City's Vaclav Hladky is named as goalkeeper, while Santos is joined in the back four by Cheltenham duo Ben Tozer and Will Boyle, as well as Cambridge's Kyle Knoyle.

In central midfield, Cambridge veteran Wes Hoolahan lines up alongside Exeter City's Matt Jay and Josh Sheehan of Newport County.

Upfront alongside Doyle includes Tranmere Rovers striker James Vaughan, who has recently announced his retirement from professional football, and League Two top scorer, Cambridge striker Paul Mullin.
