Bolton Wanderers defender, Salford City and Oldham Athletic forwards named in League Two team of the week

Bolton Wanderers defender Ricardo Almeida Santos and Salford City forward Ashley Hunter have been named in the League Two team of the week.

There was a full fixture list in League Two yesterday evening with some eye catching results across the division.

Exeter City thrashed Colchester United 6-1, while Oldham Athletic came out on top of a seven-goal thriller against Barrow at Holker Street with a dramatic 4-3 victory.

After the frantic midweek action, the team of the week in League Two has been named using the player ratings from football statistics website WhoScored.com.

And Wanderers central defender Santos has been named in the team alongside Salford man Hunter.

Santos has excelled recently for Wanderers in the middle of a back three and takes his place in the best 11 of the midweek round of fixtures after helping his side keep a clean sheet in the 1-0 win over Scunthorpe United.

Hunter meanwhile scored a brace for the Ammies in their 2-1 win over Morecambe.

Tranmere Rovers goalkeeper Scott Davies takes his place inbetween the sticks, with a back three of Santos, Harrogate Town's Connor Hall and Grimsby Town's Luke Waterfall.

The midfield four selected includes Hunter on the left, Grimsby's Max Wright and Oldham's Ben Garrity in the middle, with Scunthorpe's Alex Gilliead on the right.

The front three comprises Oldham's Danny Rowe, and Exeter duo Ryan Bowman and Matt Jay.
