Bolton Wanderers defender joins Irish side Waterford on loan for rest of season

Bolton Wanderers defender Jamie Mascoll will spend the rest of the season out on loan at Irish side Waterford.

The 23-year-old joined the League Two club over the summer as part of a recruitment drive which saw more than 20 players signed.

But Mascoll has struggled for game time at the University of Bolton Stadium, playing only nine times for Wanderers in all competitions.

His most recent appearance came off the bench in mid-December in the away victory over Cheltenham Town.

He was last part of a matchday squad against the Robins for the home fixture in mid-January, but has not been part of the set up on a matchday since then.

The former Wycombe Wanderers defender will now spend the rest of the campaign at the League of Ireland side.

A Bolton statement read: "Jamie Mascoll has joined League of Ireland side Waterford FC on loan until the end of the season.

"The defender arrived at the University of Bolton Stadium in August having previously played for Wycombe Wanderers.

"During his time with Wanderers, he has made nine appearances, netting one goal which came in the victory against Newcastle United U21s in the Papa John’s Trophy in November.

"The club would like to wish Jamie well during his time in Ireland."
