Bolton Wanderers confirmed team v Hartlepool United as Dion Charles and Marlon Fossey calls made

Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt has made three changes to his side for this evening's Papa John's Trophy match against Hartlepool United.

Wanderers are on the road for the second time in the space of four days after the New Year's Day loss to Rotherham United in League One.

This evening, the league is put on the back burner and the Papa John's Trophy is in focus as the last 16 stage of the competition takes stage.

The victors of this evening's game at Victoria Park will book their place in the quarter finals and move a step closer to making it to Wembley.

And for this evening's encounter, Evatt has made three changes from the side which lost to the Millers with a couple of debuts handed out.

Joel Dixon keeps his place as goalkeeper, while new signing Marlon Fossey comes into the team and is poised to line up as right-back, with Declan John at left-back, and Ricardo Almeida Santos partnered at the back by George Johnston.

In central midfield, MJ Williams makes a welcome return after being out of action recently due to testing positive for Covid-19, and he is joined by George Thomason and Nathan Delfouneso.

Upfront, Dion Charles makes his debut through the middle in the front three, with Elais Kachunga on the right and Dapo Afolayan on the left.

On the bench for Wanderers this evening are Matt Gilks, Eoin Doyle, Amadou Bakayoko, Will Aimson, Harry Brockbank, Alex Baptiste, and Liam Gordon.
