Bolton Wanderers confirmed lineup vs Crewe Alex as Marlon Fossey replacement named

Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt has made one change for this afternoon's game on the road against Crewe Alexandra from the side which lost to Plymouth Argyle.

Wanderers sit 11th in League One at present and are seeking to bounce back from last weekend's loss to Plymouth Argyle.

Bolton are 11 points from the play-offs as things stand and any hopes of reaching the top six by the end of April appear slim at this moment in time.

This afternoon sees Wanderers make the fairly short journey to Cheshire to take on Crewe, who sit bottom of League One and facing the prospect of relegation back to League Two, from which they were promoted in 2020.

And for the clash at Gresty Road, Evatt has opted to make one change from the side which suffered a narrow 1-0 loss last weekend at home to the Pilgrims.

James Trafford continues as goalkeeper, while Gethin Jones remains absent but is due to return from compassionate leave on Monday.

Bolton are set to continue with a back three with Will Aimson, Ricardo Almeida Santos and George Johnston continuing.

With Marlon Fossey out of action for the rest of the season, Kieran Sadlier is posied to fill in that role, with Declan John in the left wing-back role.

In central midfield, Kyle Dempsey's return boosts that department but Evatt continues with MJ Williams and Aaron Morley in that area of the pitch.

Top scorer Dapo Afolayan continues in the number 10 role, with Dion Charles partnered upfront by Jon Dadi Bodvarsson.

On the bench this afternoon for Bolton are Dempsey, Liam Gordon, Alex Baptiste, George Thomason, Amadou Bakayoko, Elias Kachunga and Xavier Amaechi.
