Bolton Wanderers confirm pre-season friendly called off due to coronavirus self isolation

Bolton Wanderers' pre-season fixture against Bamber Bridge has been called off due to several of the club's development staff self isolating.

The League One side is well into its pre-season campaign and the next match in the schedule is against Preston North End tomorrow evening at the County Ground in Leyland.

On Wednesday, a Bolton Wanderers XI was due to take on the Brig at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium.

As well as six first team games, a trio of XI fixtures have been confirmed in the pre-season schedule.

Wanderers are also due to play Chorley and Chester FC over the coming weeks.

However, it has been confirmed that the game due to take place against Brig on Wednesday will now not go ahead as planned because of the impact of coronavirus measures and several members of Bolton's development staff self isolating.

A club statement read: "The Bolton Wanderers XI pre-season fixture against Bamber Bridge FC at the Sir Tom Finney Stadium on Wednesday has been called off.

"With several members of the club’s development staff isolating, it was mutually decided to postpone the fixture."
