Both Bolton Wanderers and Doncaster Rovers have been charged by the FA after failing to control their players during the League One fixture on November 23rd.
Ian Evatt's side triumphed in the contest as goals from Eoin Doyle, Elias Kachunga and George Thomason sealed a comprehensive 3-0 victory.
Wanderers oozed control throughout the contest but both sets of players were guilty of losing their heads in the aftermath of a cynical Joseph Oluwu challenge, the Doncaster defender clumsily diving two-footed into the heels of the escaping Dapo Afolayan.
The tackle sparked a touchline melee between the two sets of players with Wanderers players visibly irked at the nature of Oluwu's challenge.
Referee Stephen Martin managed to calm the situation before showing Olowu a straight red card and now both clubs have been reprimanded by the FA for the fracas that ensued during the fixture, with Bolton possessing the right to appeal that charge before Wednesday, December 1.
A statement from the FA read: "Bolton Wanderers FC and Doncaster Rovers FC have both been charged with a breach of FA Rule E20.1.
"It is alleged that they failed to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion during the 44th minute of their EFL League One fixture on Tuesday 23 November 2021. Both clubs have until Wednesday 1 December 2021 to respond."
