Bolton Wanderers boss Ian Evatt gives update on Gethin Jones' injury against Harrogate Town

Bolton Wanderers defender Gethin Jones has gone to hospital for an x-ray and a scan to discover the extent of the injury suffered against Harrogate Town but Ian Evatt admits 'it's not looking good'.

The 24-year-old had to be replaced as half-time approached of Wanderers' first League Two win of the season against Harrogate Town.

Harrogate striker Mark Beck fell accidentally on the Wanderers man, who received treatment initially on the pitch and later at the side of it.

Jak Hickman was brought on for Jones who could no longer play a part and the stretcher was brought for the Bolton defender, who has featured in every match of the season so far.

Speaking after the victory, Wanderers boss Evatt admits it is 'not looking good' for Jones but did not give any further detail on the extent of the injury suffered or how long the player could be out for.

He said: "It’s not great, I must say it’s not looking good. It’s just the way things are going for us at the moment that people are getting injured.

"That was just a freak. I think the big lad Beck up front fell on his leg accidentally.

"He’s going to go to hospital now for an x-ray and a scan to see how bad it is, but it doesn’t look good."
