Mansfield Town boss Nigel Clough felt his side were denied three points by Bolton Wanderers after the Trotters scored a 'fluke' and a 'scrappy own goal'.
Ollie Clarke had put the hosts in front after the break following an error from Matt Gilks, while Jamie Reid scored Mansfield's second of the evening.
Declan John grabbed one back soon after with a cross which looped into the goal, befoeputting in the cross which was turned into his own net by Mal Benning.
And Arthur Gnahoua came off the bench to score a dramatic late winner which lifted Wanderers up to 11th in the table with three points.
After his side contrived to taste defeat having been two goals to the good, Stags boss Clough knows exactly why Mansfield lost - and he pointed to two slices of good fortune for Wanderers with their opening strikes.
He told the club's YouTube channel: "We know exactly why we didn't win the game - they've scored a fluke and a scrappy own goal off Mal Benning's knee, which has got them back into a game that they were never into in the second half.
"We can't legislate with 10 to 15 minutes to go, somebody putting a fluke in, a cross that's flown in the top corner.
"I think the penalty in the first half was absolutely stonewall on Stephen Quinn. I think that gives us a good start in the game and may well have changed the outcome. I'm puzzled why that wasn't given.
"The fluke gets them back into the game and then all of a sudden, their tails are up and they've got a lifeline that they didn't deserve.
"Having got to 2-2 with the two flukes, then we don't lose the game, that's the most important thing. We were so close to winning it as well with Jamie Reid and then all of a sudden, they break up the other end, a good ball and the lad puts one in from 20 odd yards out.
"That's the only disappointing thing, to lose the game from that position. You come with a 2-2 and we'll all be upset and think we should have won the game, but at least you get a point and you keep your unbeaten run going. We shouldn't have lost tonight."
Clough was pleased however with the two goals his side scored, which he felt should have been enough to claim all three points.
He said: "They were two very different goals and though it might look a bit fortunate with the first one, he's hit it with such ferocity he's hit the target and if it goes two yards either side of the goalkeeper, he's got no chance anyway.
"With the way the ball has moved, it's ended up in the back of the net. The second goal was a lovely move and quite reminiscent of quite a few of the moves we had tonight in the middle of the park.
"It ended up with a lovely finish by Jamie Reid and should have been enough to win us the game."
