Bolton's Yusha Ninja and Jump Xtreme activity parks closed after fire

A ninja park and a neighbouring trampoline and soft play centre have been forced to close after a fire at the weekend.

The fire broke out at Yusha Ninja, formerly Be Ninja, at Bolton's Trinity Retail Park in the early hours of Sunday.

Bosses at Yusha are not sure how long the building will be closed for and say the fire started in the kitchen area on the upper mezzanine, but it's not yet known what caused it.

While the blaze didn't spread to Seven of the best trampoline parks in Greater Manchester , which are both inside one building next to the site, their business has been affected by smoke damage and will be closed until at least the end of the week.

Six pumps were initially sent to the fire from Bolton and Farnworth, with around 30 firefighters and they spent around four hours at the scene after cutting open the roller shutter to gain access.

The kitchen has been gutted and there is smoke and water damage inside the venue.

A manager at Yusha Ninja said: "The fire was in the kitchen area but we don't know how it started. There's obviously smoke damage and water damage so we don't know how long it will take to sort.

"Unfortunately we had four parties booked at the weekend but there was a delay getting hold of those people because we couldn't gain access to the building where all their details were. We could only apologise to those people."

Further parties had to be cancelled at Jump Xtreme, where manager Greg Strickland said: "Jump Xtreme and That Fun Place have fortunately escaped any serious damage however we have a lot of cleaning up to do because of soot and smoke from the fire.

"Firstly I would like to apologise to the eight birthday parties we had to cancel, we are heartbroken to have let our loyal customers down and realise they will be many upset kids, we will be in contact to make it up to you.

"Secondly, I would like to thank our brilliant team at Jump Xtreme and That Fun Place. We always pride ourselves on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and today the team have all mucked in to start the process of getting us back in action.

"We're hoping to be open by the end of the week."
