Bolton motorist arrested after driving car with three wheels

A motorist has been arrested after attempting to drive a car with just three wheels in Bolton.

Greater Manchester Police traffic officers spotted the Volkswagen Golf travelling on three wheels after losing its other one on Rishton Lane.

The vehicle's driver was arrested after providing a roadside breath test reading of 50 micrograms of alcohol per 100 millilitres. The legal limit is 35.

In a tweet at 12.18am on Thursday, GMP Traffic posted a picture of the car without one of its front wheels.

The tweet said: "The driver of this Volkswagen Golf had attempted to drive on 3 wheels after losing the other on Rishton Lane Bolton!!

" #XT18 has attended and the driver is off to custody having provided a breath sample at the roadside of 50"
