Bolton fans say the same things following Wanderers' decision after Salford City postponement

Bolton Wanderers had their second game postponed due to weather conditions in the space of five days.

The Trotters had been scheduled to take on Salford City at the Peninsula Stadium this afternoon in League Two.

But the encounter was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch with more than an hour to go until kick-off following rainfall in the area ensuring parts of the pitch were not deemed to be playable.

It follows the midweek postponement of Bolton's game on the road against Mansfield Town, also due to a waterlogged pitch.

It means Bolton were last in action the previous weekend with a 2-0 win over Leyton Orient at home.

Wanderers will return to the University of Bolton Stadium this Tuesday when they host Morecambe.

After the game against Salford was called off, Ian Evatt took his squad to the club's Lostock training ground for some sessions and ensure the day was not a complete write off in terms of work being done.

The club's head groundsman Chris Simm took to Twitter to explain the efforts gone to at short notice to prepare a pitch for the players to train on today following the postponement.

And Wanderers fans on the social media platform were full of praise for the club's ground staff who prepared the club's Lostock training facility at relatively short notice, as well as comparing the Trotters training ground pitch to other playing surfaces in the fourth tier of English football.

David Bailey posted: "Legends our grounds lads!"

Ste Morris wrote: "Our training pitch is better than 75 percent of L2, if not more."

Tom Gleaves posted: "Absolute top work by you and the grounds team Chris. Thanks for all the superb work on the #bwfc playing surfaces."

Jack Fletcher wrote: "Hats off to you fellas!"

Jimmy Donnelly wrote: "Our training pitch is better than half the actual grounds in this league."

Martin Williamson posted: "When your training ground pitches are better than most stadium pitches in this league. Top work from our ground staff."

@brendanBWFC posted: "Great effort lads."

Richard Atherton wrote: "Great work lads, one town, one club, top effort."

Matt Lawton posted: "Great effort. Should have just shifted the game there."

Chris Green posted: "Unsung heroes lets be honest.... Well done all!"
