Steve McClaren has been sacked as manager of Queens Park Rangers.
The decision comes after a torrid run of form which has seen the Hoops pick up just one victory in the league since Boxing Day.
This has led the Hoops to within eight points of the Championship drop zone - meaning that the risk of relegation to League One is a distinct possibility.
Speaking of the decision, QPR CEO Lee Hoos said: "Making a decision such as this is never easy, particularly when you are talking about someone as professional and dedicated as Steve.
“We are grateful to him for all his efforts during his time with us. It is well documented that we are in a period of transition as we work hard to make the club financially stable. With that comes challenges, not least the cutting of the wage bill while aiming to remain competitive.

“As we look to the future, and taking recent results into account, we feel now is the right time to re-evaluate where we are.”
Chairman Amit Bhatia added: "On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Steve for his hard work during his time with us, and wish him well for the future.
“I would also like to thank our fans for their patience and unwavering support during what has been a very difficult run of results, at a time when the club faces well-documented challenges.

“We must now work towards ending this season positively and building for the future.”
There's no doubting that it's been a tough season for Steve McClaren.
An ongoing battle with Financial Fair Play came to a head last summer when the club were handed a hefty fine and a transfer embargo for breaching regulations back in 2014.

This led to QPR losing a number of key players last summer including Nedum Onuoha, Jack Robinson, James Perch, Jamie Mackie and Alex Smithies.
Unfortunately for McClaren, the club didn't have the funds to suitably replace them.
However after signing the likes of Angel Rangel, Nahki Wells, Tomer Hemed and Geoff Cameron, form took an upward turn with the club looking like dark horses for a potential play-off spot as the club closed in on the top six.

However a number of injuries to key players, as well as losing Massimo Luongo to Asia Cup duty led to a downward turn in form - something which they have not been able to recover from.
