Bolton Crown Court closed due to 'emergency work'

Bolton Crown Court is closed due to 'emergency work' being carried out inside.

The building is locked and cases due to be heard today (August 13) have been moved to Minshull Street Crown Court.

According to Minshull Street Crown Court, the closure is because of 'emergency work' and a spokesman for the Ministry of Justice confirmed that the issue was to do with light fittings inside the building.

Manchester Evening News understands that a number of hearings yesterday afternoon were also moved or adjourned.

The work is due to be completed over the weekend and the court is set to re-open as usual on Monday.

Bolton Crown Court has been approached for comment.
