Bolsover General Election 2019 results in full

The Beast of Bolsover Dennis Skinner has lost his seat to the Conservatives after 49 years in the job.

The 87-year-old former miner was dealt a huge blow after his 5,288 majority was wiped out by  the Tory party.

Conservative candidate Mark Fletcher won 21,791 votes to Mr Skinner's 16,492 as his vote share plunged by 16 points.

Born in the mining town of Clay Cross in Derbyshire, Skinner was one of nine children to Edward - who was sacked from his job as a coal miner following the 1926 general strike.

Liberal Democrats - David Hancock: 1,759

Brexit Party - Kevin Harper: 4,151

Independent - Natalie Hoy: 517

Green - David Kesteven: 758

Labour - Dennis Skinner: 16,492
