Bollywood star Salman Khan who was jailed on Thursday for five years for poaching, was granted bail by an Indian court on Saturday.

On Thursday, Khan had been convicted in Jodhpur, sentenced to five years in jail and fined 10,000 rupees ($154).

The court ruled Khan, 52, killed the two blackbucks, a protected species, in Rajasthan while shooting a film, according to BBC. He was found guilty of violating Indian wildlife laws by killing the endangered species of antelope, in 1998.

Reuters reported that the case was brought by members of a community known as the Bishnoi, who revere antelopes. The community had pursued the case against Khan for almost two decades.

However, he will be set free on Saturday after all required formalities are completed, his lawyer Mahesh Bora told reporters.

Last year, another court in Jodhpur acquitted Khan in a separate poaching case, ruling that there was no proof that Khan had killed an endangered gazelle.
