Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo joins Celtic on a four-year deal to take summer spending to more than £10million

Celtic have made their third signing of the summer with the £3million capture of Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo

The left-back joins on a four-year deal from Rapid Vienna where he has played since arriving from Club Brugge two seasons ago.

Celtic have been tracking the 24-year-old for some time, with Mbombo coming up against the Glasgow giants in a pre-season friendly two years ago.

Bolingoli-Mbomboarrives following the signings of Christopher Jullien and talented teen Luca Connell and takes Celtic’s summer spending to more than £10m.

Although some feel the Belgian is a replacement for Kieran Tierney , Celtic have been desperate to strengthen in the left-back area for some time and their need for new recruits heightened when Emilio Izaguirre knocked back a new deal.

Tierney remains a target for Arsenal while Napoli are believed to be preparing a bid.

But Neil Lennon will be delighted to land Bolingoli-Mbombo, who he admitted on Tuesday night Celtic were close to a deal.

Earlier on Wednesday, his club Vienna revealed he had left their training camp and was heading to Glasgow.

And now his signing has been confirmed.

Bolingoli-Mbombo– cousin of Romelu Lukaku, recently insisted he is the most technically-gifted player in his family.

He had said: "They are a bit stronger and more physical than me, but I think technically I am the best in the family.

"There aren't that many similarities between us, except maybe I am faster than them!

"No, actually, we are all completely different and are all good players in our own ways.

"Romelu keeps in touch and he congratulated me when I made my Champions League debut a couple of years ago.

And obviously, I would love to be as successful and play with clubs as big as my cousins one day in the future."
