Boli Bolingoli leaves Celtic as Hoops outcast makes loan switch to Turkish champions

Celtic bad boy Boli Bolingoli has completed a loan switch to Turkish champions Istanbul Başakşehir.

Basaksehir will also have the option to buy him at the end of the campaign with Celtic desperate to get him out of the club after his Spanish misadventure.

Bolingoli's career was done at Celtic Park after he decided to take an overnight trip to Spain and didn't tell anyone, or quarantine on his return, leading him to being selected to face Kilmarnock.

That resulted in a three match ban from the SFA while the SPFL are investigating the club over the incident and two Hoops games were cancelled due to the COVID-19 rule breach.

First Minister Nicola Sturgeon subsequently threatened to shut the entire Scottish game down and put the SPFL and SFA on a final warning.

But now Bolingoli will get the chance to reignite his career in Turkey where he's set to have some interesting team-mates.

Those includes former Manchester United right back Rafael, ex-Newcastle star Demba Ba, former Tottenham winger Nacer Chadli and Liverpool hero Martin Skrtel.

Last season, their squad also included Brazilian hero Robinho.

The left back only joined Celtic 12 months ago on a £3m deal from Rapid Vienna.

He was initially first choice but made just 28 appearances over the course of last season with Greg Taylor unsurping him as first choice and Jonny Hayes regularly selected ahead of him.

His only appearance this campaign was the ill-fated cameo against Kilmarnock.
