Boli Bolingoli breaks silence as Celtic flop vents over 'ridiculous' Istanbul debut decision

Celtic flop Boli Bolingoli has broken his silence after making debut for Istanbul Basaksehir in a defeat to Galatasaray.

The left back was made an outcast in Glasgow after breaking COVID-19 rules to travel to Spain and didn't quarantine on his return, leading to him playing in a 1-1 draw with Kilmarnock.

Celtic then sent him on loan to Basaksehir - who have an option to buy - and he made his debut as a second half sub in the 2-0 defeat to Galatasaray, who could face Rangers in the Europa League next week.

But Bolingoli was delighted just to be back playing again.

He said: "It was good to make my debut for the club, although it would have been better if we had won the game.

"We lost because of a ridiculous penalty decision against us.

"For me, I feel good and I think I will get better and stronger with each match I play for Basaksehir and I know I can be successful here."

The left back played just 29 times over the last year since joining from Rapid Vienna.
