Bold Street dessert café has closed after just one year of business

A vintage style artisan gelato café based on Bold Street has closed after just one year of business.

Gelatizmo café opened in July of last year and offered a wide variety of desserts including pancakes, pizza cones, hot cookie dough, cakes, Belgian hot waffles, milkshakes and a range of gelato.

The café was retro in design, with red tiles reminiscent of fifties diners, union jack tables and white leather chairs.

There was also a feature wall made up of red roses.

The desserts were made fresh every day alongside savoury options including burgers, pizza and kebabs.

Based at the bottom of Bold Street and stretching part way down Hanover Street , the generously sized restaurant has now been stripped of its flooring while the walls have been stripped back to bare brick.

Some of the window seating remains and builders' supplies are visible throughout the café.

It is not currently known what will be replacing Gelatizmo or if its team has any plans to reopen the café in the future.

The ECHO has contacted Gelatizmo for a comment.
