Bold Street café serving 'perfect' £6 breakfast toasties

In my opinion, you can't beat going out to a nice café for breakfast.

With this in mind, I decided to venture to Ropes and Twines on Bold Street. The speciality coffee shop and wine bar opened in June 2018 and serves up breakfast, sandwiches, toasties and bakes alongside an array of drinks.

I'd never visited the café before but was drawn in by its fresh, bright aesthetic. It's nice and spacious and has a modern and relaxed vibe, making it an ideal spot to unwind.

I was instantly impressed by the minimalist, yet stylish décor. There's plenty of plants on display along with modern artwork on the walls. The atmosphere was enhanced even further by the staff, who are welcoming and attentive. As soon as I sat down, I was greeted with a bottle of water for the table, along with a menu.

In terms of the food on offer, the menu is nice and varied and has something to suit everyone. The breakfast menu is served until 3pm, which is a bonus if you don't want to get out of bed early and includes fresh pastries, smoked salmon and cream cheese on toast and granola. You can also choose from a range of sandwiches and toasties, before finishing your meal with one of the cafe's selection of baked goods, which are all made in-house.

I opted for the vegan cheese, vegan pesto and sundried tomato toastie - despite being vegetarian rather than vegan, I was drawn to the pesto and sundried tomato. I didn't have to wait long before I was greeted with a delicious sandwich on nice, thick bread. At £6, the toastie was pricier than those you can find at popular coffee shop chains, but you definitely get good quality for your money at Ropes and Twines.

I eagerly took a bite and was amazed by the taste of the vegan cheese. It was the most realistic vegan cheese I've ever tried and was full of flavour. The combination of the cheese, pesto and tomatoes worked really well together and the thickness of the bread made it taste even better. It was the perfect toastie and just what I was looking for.

Overall, I loved my visit to Ropes and Twines and was really impressed with the service, food and atmosphere. It's a great place to meet friends, do some work or have a bite to eat and I will definitely be coming back again.
