Peter Grant admits he would've loved to have seen Bojan Miovski in a Celtic jersey.
The North Macedonian international last week joined Rangers in a £4.2m move from Girona.
The frontman returned to the Scottish Premiership just one year after he departed Aberdeen for La Liga.
Miovski was handed his debut by Russell Martin in the derby against the Hoops on Sunday afternoon.
He couldn't make the difference as the side's played out a drab goalless stalemate.
But Grant admits he's a big fan of the striker, and believes the Hoops should've signed him a couple of years ago.
"Yes," he simply replied when asked if he would've liked to see him playing in green and white hoops.
Speaking on Go Radio's Football Show, he continued: "I must admit I think Miovski will be a very good signing. I think that is a very good piece of business.
"I think he is a very good striker. I thought Celtic or Rangers could have went for him two seasons ago.
"Maybe the money they were asking for [Aberdeen] and maybe he wanted to go abroad so I understand that, 100 per cent.
"When he became available again, I would have been in the pot for him.
"He works the line really well, he looks to get in behind you, works really hard for his team-mates, lays the ball off and wants to get into the box."
