What’s Going To Happen
The Wyoming defense will keep this just close enough to make it interesting, but the offense isn’t going to provide enough help to pull off the upset.
QB Sean Chambers is done – possibly for the year – with a knee injury, and it’ll be up to former Cowboy starter Tyler Vander Waal to get more going for an O that doesn’t have a passing game.
Boise State’s been scuffling a bit lately, struggling to get past San Jose State after losing to BYU. The offense has been more than fine – putting up over 50 points in ten of the last three games – but it’ll have to get used to grinding it out a bit. The Cowboys have a way of slowing things down to a bit of a crawl, but can the ground game keep on working without Chambers?
Not really.
Both defenses will trade defensive blows with a whole slew of third down stops and big plays in the backfield – the Boise State offensive line will get Hank Bachmeier hit a bit too often.
Wyoming’s offense will have too many empty trips, but Boise State won’t ever be able to get comfortable.
