Boise State (2-0) vs. Portland State (1-1) Game Preview
What’s Going To Happen
Two games, two wins, two totally different games. Boise State proved it could win in a wild shootout with the victory over FSU, and it showed it could get into a slugfest after getting by Marshall. This week it won’t be able to take it easy, either.
Portland State hung up 70 on the board in the win over Simon Fraser, and it pushed Arkansas in a 20-13 loss. The pass rush is tremendous – it’ll get to Boise State new star QB Hank Bachmeier early and often – and the offense will be able to keep up the pace with its dangerous passing game.
However, the Vikings will turn the ball over.
Boise State’s defense has been amazing on third downs so far, but the key to getting by will be the mistakes – there won’t be enough of them to give Portland State a shot.
The Broncos will control the clock and the game, holding on to the ball for well over 35 minutes to keep the PSU offense on the sidelines.
