A battle of the backups.
The big story tonight between BYU and Boise State is who is playing quarterback for each team. The Broncos are going with Chase Cord for the injured Hank Bachmeier who took a big hit against Hawaii last week. He is apparently not officially out but odds point to him not playing.
On the Cougars side, they are going with third-string quarterback Baylor Romney. Starter Zach Wilson is out with a hand injury and his backup, Jaren Hall, suffered a concussion last week in the loss to South Florida.
So, in comes Baylor Romney who will be getting the start.
However, in the pregame radio interview for BYU, head coach Kalani Sitake said that Hall will not play.
But… he is on the field warming up. So this deserve a ¯_(ツ)_/¯.
To recap, BYU will be playing its third-string quarterback, Boise State its backup; but we see BYU’s backup quarterback warming up and Bachmeier is not officially ruled out.
Oh, did we mention it is raining, a lot.
