The Village of Lincolnwood has issued a boil order for its water supply after an electrical problem Thursday at a pumping station.
Lincolnwood water customers should boil all water for at least five minutes before using it for drinking or cooking, according to a statement from the village.
The order comes after the Village Pump House, 6441 N. Crawford Ave., experienced “intermittent electrical issues” earlier Thursday morning that caused the pumps that supply and maintain water pressure to shut off, village officials said. Water was restored by 6:45 a.m.
The boil order will remain in effect until lab tests can confirm that water quality is back to normal, officials said. The earliest the order could be lifted is late Friday morning.
Residents with questions should call the Lincolnwood Public Works department at 847-675-0888 for more information.
