The Thailand Board of Investment (BOI) is enhancing merit-based incentives in a move to boost industrial competitiveness.
Seven investment / expense areas
** no minimum investment required**
Additional corporate income tax (CIT) exemption for up to 3 years.
1. Research and Development (R&D)
• Promoted projects will enjoy an additional CIT exemption ceiling at 300% of investment / expense
2. Donation to technology and HR development funds, educational institutes and specialised training centers in science and technology fields
• Promoted projects will enjoy an additional CIT exemption ceiling at 100% of investment / expense
3. Participation in apprenticeship programs and advanced technology training
• Promoted projects will enjoy an additional CIT exemption ceiling at 200% of investment / expense
4. IP acquisition / licensing fees for commercialising technologies in Thailand
• Promoted projects will enjoy an additional CIT exemption ceiling at 200% of investment / expense
5. Advanced technology training
• Promoted projects will enjoy an additional CIT exemption ceiling at 200% of investment / expense
6. Development of local suppliers
• Promoted projects will enjoy an additional CIT exemption ceiling at 200% of investment / expense
7. Product & packaging design
• Promoted projects will enjoy an additional CIT exemption ceiling at 200% of investment / expense
All promoted projects will enjoy an additional CIT exemption for up to 3 years.
