Bohemians swoop to sign Bastien Hery from Linfield

Bohemians have swooped to sign Bastien Hery from Irish League champions Linfield.

Madagascar international Hery - who was due to come out of contract this summer - looked set to join St Patrick's Athletic, but the 28-year-old made a late switch to Dalymount Park.

And Bohs boss Keith Long was delighted to make the capture. He said: “Bastien is a high quality player with great experience, ability and personality.

“We are a young team and I believe these are some of the attributes we need to help us progress.”

Hery joined Linfield in July 2019 and made an instant impression in the club's European games that summer.

The midfielder had previously established himself in the League of Ireland with Limerick before signing for Waterford where he spent 18 months.

A member of Paris St-German's youth academy, Hery spent five seasons in England with clubs including Rochdale and Carlisle United, before moving to Ireland.

Hery is Bohs' second arrival of the week after Stephen Mallon's move from Sheffield United last Tuesday.
