Bohemians sign former Shelbourne keeper Rachael Kelly as they bring 2022 squad to seven

Bohemians continue to strengthen ahead of the 2022 Women’s National League season with the signing of the highly-rated former Shelbourne keeper Rachael Kelly.

The Dubliner, who has played for Ireland up to under-19 level, has signed up with the Phibsboro club after returning late last year from a six-month spell playing in Sweden.

20-year-old Kelly played a starring role in P18 IK's run to promotion to Division 1 of the Eastern Svealand regional league as they came through a play-off series victorious.

The talent keeper is the second new signing in the door at Bohs following the acquisition of left-back Katie Burdis from DLR Waves.

Defenders Isobel Finnegan, Katie Lovely, Yvonne Hedigan and Abbie Brophy have re-signed with the Gypsies, as has striker Lisa Murphy, ahead of the new season.

And Kelly won’t have to wait long to be reunited with her former club as Bohs travel to Tolka Park to face Shels on the opening day of the season on March 5.

Shels sealed the title in dramatic circumstances on the final day as a 3-2 win at home to Wexford Youths was enough to clinch it following Peamount United’s shock 5-2 loss to Galway.
