Finn Harps 0-1 Bohemians: Danny Grant winner sends Gypsies within three of top

A first half goal from Danny Grant proved enough as Bohemians overcame bottom-of-the-table Finn Harps in a game that only came to life in fits and starts at a sunny Finn Park.

This result moves in-form Bohs to within three points of leaders Shamrock Rovers, albeit with a game more played.

Harps, who had manager Ollie Horgan sent-off for touch-line antics late on, have won just once in eight outings as they battle relegation.

Harps spurned an early chance through Karl O’Sullivan before Bohs bagged what turned out to be the winner on 23 minutes when Grant turned inside Sadiki before placing his shot beyond the advancing McGinley.

Bohs had a real let-off late on when goalkeeper Stephen McGuinness dropped a corner ball but there was no Harps player on hand to capitalise.

Finn Harps: McGInley 6; Webster 6, Sadiki 5, Folan 7,Todd 6; McEleney 6 (Delap 6, 58 mins); B. McNamee 7 (T. McNamee 6, 71 mins), Donnellan 6 (Kogler 6, 80 mins), Connolly 6 (Coyle 6, half-time); O’Sullivan 5, Cretaro 7.

Bohemians: McGuinness 6; Lyons 6, Cornwell 6, Casey 6, Breslin 6; Twardeck 7, Buckley 7, Lunney 6, Ward 7 (Mandriou 6,

76 mins); Grant 7 (Kelly, 88 mins), Wright 6.
