Bohemian FC and BangBang launch Direct Provision gift drive for 2,500 children

Bohemian FC have launched their Christmas gift drive for the 2,500 children currently in Direct Provision centres.

This is the fourth year of the initiative by the Phibsborough club after successful drives in 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Despite Covid-19 hitting last year, the club managed to fundraise over €60,000 which provided gifts for almost 2,000 children across the island in direct provision.

The majority of donations will be done online and so the club has started a GoFundMe appeal with the target set at €75,000.

That amount will mean €25 can be spent on a gift for all 2,500 kids. This year's fundraiser is a joint venture between Bohs and BangBang coffee shop.

All donated gifts will be sorted and packed at the RDS in Ballsbridge. Bohs and BangBang have partnered with DHL to deliver gifts across the country.

The gift drive has so far raised over €5,100. To donate to the Go Fund Me appeal, click here.
