Police are hunting a bogus workman who stole cash from a Scots pensioner in Falkirk.
The sick crook preyed on his victim at a property in Falkland Place, Stenhousemuir, on Wednesday, February 10 2021.
He offered to carry out rough casting work on the elderly resident's home that morning.
Later that day, he took a four figure sum of cash from the OAP, for work to start on March 23.
But he never appeared back at the home to carry out the work.
Police launched a probe and soon discovered the scammer handed over fake details.
The suspect, who made off from the area in a Mini, is described as white, between 21 and 40-years-old and five foot, 10 inches tall.
He is of a slim build, has short fair hair and spoke with an local accent.
At the time of the incident the man was wearing a blue Jacket with a 'P' on it, blue jeans and trainers.
Officers are urging anyone with information to come forward.
A Forth Valley Police Division spokesperson said: "Police in Grangemouth are appealing for information after a bogus workman stole money from an elderly resident in the Stenhousemuir area.
"The incident happened at a property in Falkland Place, Stenhousemuir, during the morning and afternoon of Wednesday, February 10.
"A man attended at the property in the morning offering to carry out work in relation to rough casting.
"He returned later the same day and has taken a four figure deposit for works to be carried out on March 23, however subsequently failed to return to the property to carry out the works.
"Enquiries have established that the man provided false details.
"He was seen leaving the area driving a Mini.
