Bogtui mass killing: Will hit streets if CBI investigates at behest of others, says West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee

SILIGURI: "Let CBI do their work, we will cooperate. But if CBI doesn’t do their work and at BJP, CPM and Congress’s behest do something else, we will hit the streets in protest" said West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Sunday referring to the ongoing Calcutta high court mandated CBI probe in the Bogtui mass murders.

Alleging there is a "big conspiracy" behind the mass killings, the CM said the incident was an attempt to stall Deucha Pachami which will generate one-lakh employment in Birbhum alone.

"We want justice. The SIT (Special Investigation Team) was working well. They ordered a CBI probe, they did the right thing," the CM said. “But was CBI able to deliver justice in the Nobel theft case? In the Nandigram mass murders, 14 people were killed, did CBI give justice? In Netai, seven people were killed, was there any justice? In Singur, Tapasi Malik was burnt to death, did we get justice," she asked.

The CM questioned, "In Unnao, a girl was burnt alive after she gave her testimony, was a CBI probe ordered, was justice given? In Hathras was justice given? A minister’s son mowed down villagers in Lakhimpur Kheri, where is justice? In Assam, people were killed for NRC and NPR, did one get justice? Bodies remained untraced in Delhi, was justice given."
