Gardai have tragically discovered a body during the search for a missing Offaly man.
Pat Walsh, 54, was last seen in the Birr area on Sunday.
Described as six foot, with grey hair and of large build, gardai said that he may have been travelling in a grey VW Golf when they issued an appeal to help find him on Monday.
Tragically, the search has since been stood down after a body was found on Wednesday.
A garda spokeswoman said: "The missing person search for Pat Walsh, who was missing from Birr, Co. Offaly since 22nd November, 2020 has been stood down following the discovery of a body.
"We would like to thank the public and the media for their assistance in this matter.
"No further action is required and no further information is being made available."
