Body tragically found during search for Louth man missing for two weeks

A body has tragically been found during the search for a Dundalk man who went missing two weeks ago.

The body, which was discovered in Knockbridge, Co Louth, is believed to be that of Darren Brennan.

Gardai confirmed this evening that the search for the 30-year-old had been halted after the discovery.

Darren went missing on October 24, and was last seen wearing a grey hoodie, grey tracksuit bottoms, a wine bomber jacket and white runners.

He was described as being around 6" tall, with black hair, and was known to be of average build.

The young man was a known frequenter of the Galway city and Mullingar areas.

A photo of Darren was circulated on social media earlier today in an attempt to raise awareness of the situation, but was deleted late in the afternoon after a body was tragically found.
