Heartbreaking tributes have been pouring in after the body of missing man David Scott was discovered yesterday.
The 27-year-old Tallaght native had been missing from his home since 28 March but was tragically found after an extensive local search.
Family and friends were informed of the news on Monday with one pal telling Dublin Live "it's such tragic news. He was and still is a gem."
David's family confirmed the update on their social media page which had been set up during the two-week search.
They said: "Just to inform you, David has been found, though not in the way we were all hoping and praying for. That being said we appreciate that we have found him.
"Again we thank each and everyone of you for the love you have expressed in the search for David, your support is what carried the family during this difficult time. Thank you all and God bless."
Jackie's Florist in the area also paid tribute saying: "It is with great sadness and a heavy heart we bring this awful news.
"Our friend David has been found. Unfortunately David is not with us any more. David had a smile that would light up a stadium, we will miss him beyond words can say and we will support David’s family and friends any way we can.
"We are heartbroken. Rest In Peace David, from Darren, Aoife, Sarah, Jackie, Des, Tamara, Kellie, Clara and all our extended team.
