Body recovered from water in search for missing Joseph Miller

A body has been recovered from the water in Clydebank in the search for missing man Joseph Miller.

The tragic discovery was made near Beardmore Place at around 1pm today (Friday, December 31).

Formal identification is still to take place, however the family of Joseph Miller has been informed. The 21-year-old was reported missing from the Paisley area.

Police Scotland has confirmed the death is not being treated as suspicious.

A statement from the force reads: "Police Scotland can confirm that the body of a man has been recovered from the water near Beardmore Place, Clydebank around 1pm on Friday, 31 December, 2021.

"Formal identification has still to take place, however the family of 21-year-old Joseph Miller, who had been reported missing from the Paisley area, have been informed.

"Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact cause of death which is not being treated as suspicious.

"A full report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal."
