Police have recovered the body of a man from the River Tay they suspect could be that of a man reported missing from Perth late last week.
Officers say formal identification of the body found in the river near the city at around 2.20pm on Sunday, December 12, has still to take place.
However they say they have already informed the family of 61-year-old Malcolm Robertson, who was reported missing on Friday, December 10, of the find.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said on Sunday: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the exact cause of death which is not being treated as suspicious.
“A report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
