Body recovered from River Clyde as family of missing man Robert Kelly informed

A body has been recovered from the River Clyde near Uddingston by emergency services following a large-scale search.

The tragic discovery was made at around 2pm yesterday (Monday, August 17). The major search operation was launched on Saturday (August 15) following reports from the public and continued throughout the weekend.

Police Scotland have confirmed that the family of 44 year old missing man Robert Kelly have been made aware of the recovery.

Formal identification has not yet taken place. The death is not being treated as suspicious.

Police stated that a post mortem will be carried out in due course to establish the exact cause of death.
